Happy Friday! I am really glad to host TGIFF today and share with you a recent finish of mine. If this is your first time visiting Echinops & Aster, welcome! Feel free to get a cup of your favorite beverage and have a look around. : )
I have been doing lots of hand stitching lately as the weather has cooled down. It's been just me, my needlework, a quilt, and Netflix (I've moved on from my 90's TV kick to re-watching "Lost"). : ) I have also decided to take up cross stich again. This was the very first craft that I learned as a child so it holds special significance for me, not to mention remembering the hours I put into earning the accompanying girl scout badge.

Last week I shared a pic of the embroidery floss palette that I put together to begin working on a couple patterns. Wee Little Stitches on Etsy recently had a sale, so I purchased two of their awesome pixelated patterns to begin working on. I picked up the Labyrinth and the Princess Bride, although choosing between all of the fun options was not easy!

I decided to stitch up the Princess Bride pattern first. This came together really quickly too. Over a few nights I was able to finish up the bulk of the stitching, pausing only to make a run to Joann's for some metallic floss that I couldn't find locally.
I also forgot how soothing cross stitch is. Beyond not counting correctly, there really isn't much chance to mess up. The stitches are all pretty much the same, with a few french knots and backstitches thrown in here and there. It was such a relaxing project to work on and I can't wait to get started on the Labyrinth pattern soon!

I'm also excited to see what you have finished this week! Remember that all this month is OctoberQuest at TGIFF, so each time you link up a project, you'll be entered into the giveaway for one of two $50 gift certificates from Mad About Patchwork. For more info, check out the full OctoberQuest rules here.
So link up those finishes below--making sure to link back and add the TGIFF button to your post. Then please stop by and comment on the other finishes this week. Let's encourage and inspire each other! : )

ReplyDeleteAnd I am talking about the script not just what is going to happen next. :/
Deletetoo great! Although, now I have Labrynth songs stuck in my head. You remind me of the boy... Twentyish years and still know all the words. Bit worrying, that.

ReplyDeleteI notice the linky is closed? Though it was going to be open til Oct 31? Help! I want to link up!
I fixed the linky party so you can add your project. Thanks for letting me know!
DeleteI had forgotten about that Etsy store! I bought the Labyrinth for myself and the movie monsters to stitch up for my Halloween/horor movie obsessed friend. Your stitching is beautiful, like always. I do think it's about time I've watched The Princess Bride. Never got around to it when it was first released.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun project! My teenage daughter has been watching The Princess Bride lately -- I'd forgotten how much I love that movie.
