Flying Geese Pillow for Danny

Part of the 3nd Quarter FAL. My original post is here.

Amy's Creative SideThis past week I decided to try out a new (to me) linky party, Amy's One Thing, One Week Challenge. I figured that it would help me to work more steadily towards my FAL goals and keep me on track to meet some of the deadlines I have in the coming months. Thanks Amy for hosting!

This week my "one thing" was making a flying geese pillow for Danny to pass along to one of the girls who will be attending T.R.A.C. summer camp this year. T.R.A.C. is a camp specifically for teens in the foster care system. It allows these kids, who have been through a lot (to say the least), to have a chance to relax, soak in some love, and spend some time bonding with other kids; all while having the traditional summer camp experience. I also made a couple of zipper bags for the campers that I already sent along to Danny, but I also wanted to make a pillow case as well, using some leftover flying geese that I had from making this cushion cover.

I also used one of my favorite paisley prints to make the envelope closure on the back. All in all, for such a quick project, I think it turned out pretty bright and cheerful. Hopefully the girl who receives it will love it. :)

  1. Great fabrics and such a lovely cause. I'm sure whoever receives it will love it, my daughter's 17 and she'd be thrilled so that's a pretty safe endorsement :)
